St. Francis began his ministry with an emphasis on loving all of God’s creatures to the best of his ability. He modeled what has come to define the Franciscan spirit—a personal faith, a servant’s heart, and willing hands to help those in need.
At Franciscan Media, we strive to embody St. Francis’ teachings. We encourage Christians to grow in their faith and share it with others in the spirit of St. Francis.
Established by the Franciscan friars in the 1890s, Franciscan Media supports spiritual development by providing inspiring, practical, and helpful multimedia resources.
Beginning with St. Anthony Messenger magazine in 1893, the friars grew their reach, and the publication became one of the principal Catholic family magazines in America.
In an effort to provide daily inspiration and support, Franciscan Media launched AmericanCatholic.org in 1996. Now FranciscanMedia.org, it has grown to become a major Catholic website worldwide.
Other products and resources such as books, audio books, a radio program, videos, blogs, as well as a variety of e-newsletters and other digital resources continue to be developed in the spirit of St. Francis.
