40th Anniversary Edition
The story of Francis of Assisi connects in a marvelous way with the problems we all face: our longing for love, our need for meaning in our lives, and our conflicts with our parents and hometowns as we grow and move away into our own identities. Francis' story relates directly to the world we live in today. Francis struggled as we do with questions about war and peace, how we live with people who are different from us, and how we relate to the poor, the marginal, and the broken in our society. It is a story for all ages because it is the story of the quest for God, a story that plumbs the depths of the human heart.
